Condolences

Please remember the following Texas Conference families in their time of bereavement:

Mr. Kakinga Rehani (65), died suddenly Tuesday, October 10. Funeral arrangements pending.

A refugee from the Democratic Republic of Congo, he and his nine grandchildren escaped, made it safely to the USA , celebrated and thanked God for their arrival in America two weeks ago. His wife and children had been brutally and savagely killed in his presence in the Congo . He leaves behind his grandchildren in a two-bedroom apartment. Help is needed. Contact Rev. McMahan Chapel Day, Saturday, October 14, 10:30 a.m. Speaker: Dr. Keith Whitaker, East District Superintendent. The church is the oldest Protestant church in Texas with continuous worship services located east from San Augustine, State Hwy 21, turn onto Spur 35.

Everyone attending is asked to bring a covered dish to share in the new museum/activities building after the service. 936-699-2213.

Perrie Joy Jackson, Galveston , Texas , was the first black woman to earn a Master of Theology degree from SMU’s Perkins School of Theology. Monina (Nina) Fowler, The Philippines, currently lives in Killeen and served 25 years as a missionary nurse & a leader in women’s programs in the Malaysian Methodist Church .
