__________________________PRAYER CONCERNS_______________________

FROM Christi Heyduck
I am requesting prayer for my husband, Dr. Richard Heyduck, who is
going to undergo shoulder surgery on Monday, Feb. 20th, in Houston. He is
the pastor of First UMC, Pittsburg.

FROM Lufkin District:
Prayers are requested for Rev. Mike Munn and family. His mother is not
doing well and the family has been called in to Cleveland, Ohio.
Prayers are requested for Ray Howard, spouse of Rev. Pam Howard.
Ray is scheduled for gallbladder surgery.

FROM Donna A. Alexander, Houston North District
Mrs. Marjorie Carleton, spouse of Rev. Rex Carleton (Retired and
Supplying at Houston: Durkee), has been admitted to Conroe Regional ICU. She
has spent two days in the emergency area due to diabetes
complications.Her condition continues to worsen and she has been moved to ICU.
Please keep Marjorie, Rex and their family in your prayers.

FROM Connie Scroggins, Ministry Assistant, FUMC, Daingerfield
First United Methodist Church in Daingerfield, Texas will hold an "It's
All About Faith" revival. On Sunday, February 26th, we will begin at
6:00 p.m. with the Wiley College Choir as our musical guests. On Monday,
February 27th, special music will be provided by "Perfect Harmony" at
7:00 p.m. Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. is our youth night. We will have special
music performed by a youth praise band and pizza will be served
afterwards. The Rev. Nick Sholars will be our special guest speaker all three
nights. We would love to have you as our guests!

Matt Neely will be holding a full-band cd release concert at Memorial
Drive UMC in the sanctuary from 6:30-8pm on Sunday, March 5th. Matt's
latest cd is entitled "from broken me to beautiful You" and includes
songs that are totally vertical in nature." his cd release concert is open
to youth and adults of all ages (and children too!). The cost for
advanced tickets is $5 (281 799-4055) and the cost for tickets at the door
will be $7.

FROM Donna V. Adair, Director of Communications, St. Paul's UMC,
Houston
St. Paul's School to host a lecture for parents of young children. -
On February 16, Dr. Myron Friedman will present "Helping Young
Children Develop Self-Control." Director of Psychological Services at
Edu-Clinic, Inc., Dr. Friedman will talk about the normal development of self
control, what may interfere with this, and how it can be improved.
The lecture is free of charge and will be from 9:45 to 11:15 a.m. in
the Jones Building Room 204. Childcare is available by advance
reservations to the school at 713-528-6779 or spschool@stpaulshouston.org.
The first school in Houston accredited by the National Academy of
Early Childhood Programs, St. Paul's School is affiliated with St. Paul's
United Methodist Church, Houston.

Bryan District Lay Speaking School, to be held Saturday, Feb. 18, at

A Lay Speaker Annual Report signed by your pastor and DS is not
required at our door to take a class, but must be presented at your district's
appropriate time.
