As chief of the medical staff at a large hospital, Dr. J. Matthew Sleeth saw patients suffering from cancer, asthma, and other chronic diseases. Turning to his faith for guidance, he discovered how the Scriptural lessons of personal responsibility, simplicity, and stewardship could be applied to modern life. Lectures are free. Passport to Missions
September 15-16

Partners In Mission of the Texas Annual Conference will host a mission forum at The Woodlands UMC. Registration starts at 4pm on Friday. Bishop Janice Riggle Huie to speak Friday.

Workshops, the Global Village and presentations by Dr. Robert Hunt of Perkins and Willie Berman, Mexico missionary, on Saturday. Learn new ways to create mission experiences through Partners In Mission. Cost: $45 (includes meals). Details: www.partnersinmission.org.

Clergy Gathering

September 26-27

Clergy Gathering ’06 welcomes Dr. Craig Gilliam as presenter and Dr. Zan Holmes as preacher at Lakeview. Gilliam, Director of the Center for Pastoral Effectiveness in the Louisiana Conference will explore “Rediscovering Your Passion for Ministry.” Holmes, one of the truly great preachers of our generation will inspire us and challenge us.
