FROM Lewis L. Jackson~
My wife Rosa and I proudly announces the birth of our new grandbaby, a
boy, born to Lewis L. and Bridgette Jackson II, on Friday, June 16,
2006 at 7:15 a.m. His name is Lewis III and he weighed in at 8 lbs, 0 ozs,
20--3/4 inches long. Both baby and mother are doing fine. Thanks for
your prayers for our new addition. Lewis III is the second child of Lewis
II and Bridgette and our fourth grandchild.

Our beloved friend, Carolyn Hancock, died on June 11. Carolyn is the
retired administrative assistant from the former Beaumont District. She
will be greatly missed.
A memorial service was held on Friday, June 16, at Groves First UMC
- 6501 Washington Blvd. The pastor is Rev. Alan Van Hooser and the
phone number is 409-962-1076.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that you make a donation to
the Lakeview Campus Scholarship Fund in c/o First UMC, Groves; P. O.

FROM Kenneth Levingston, Executive Pastor, Westchase
A graveside service for Colleen and Gordon Dillahunty's son, Maxwell
Hayden (who died very shortly after his premature birth), was held on
Friday, June 16, at Forest Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, located at
12800 Westheimer.
A Memorial Celebration was held on Saturday, June 17, in the Hinson
Chapel at First Methodist Houston, Westchase Campus.
Colleen and Gordon have requested that in lieu of flowers, you bring
a stuffed animal which will be donated to Child Advocates to be given
to a child that has experienced child abuse.

The Reverend Robert E. Felder died on June 13 in Nashville, TN,
following a lengthy illness. Bob was the beloved husband of Angella
Current-Felder (GBHEM), brother of Luther Felder (GBHEM) and son-in-law of Bishop
Leontine T.C. Kelly.
Visitation for Robert Felder was held on Monday, June 19th at
Trinity East UMC, Houston. The Celebration of Robert Felder's life was held
immediately after, with Bishop Alfred Norris presiding. Reverend Felder
was interred in Paradise North in Houston.
Please keep Angella, Luther and the entire Felder family in your
prayers.

FROM Robyn Colley, Adm. Assist. Woodcrest UMC, Lumberton~
Mr. George Sitton, father of Rick Sitton, Sr. Pastor at Woodcrest UMC
in Lumberton, passed away Wednesday, June 14. Funeral services were
held on Saturday, June 17 at 2:00 p.m. at Swan/Wood Springs UMC in Tyler.

Please keep the family of Tidy Mary Brannon in your prayers. She was
the widow of George Brannon, an elder in our conference who died in 1982.
Ms. Brannon was 86, a member of the Liberty United Methodist Church,
and lived in Hughes Springs, TX. (North District)

EARLY RESPONDER Training will be offered on July 8th for those who
would like to be certified by UMCOR to go into a disaster area to make
homes and churches SAFE, SANITARY and SECURE. Plenty of space is
available!
Classes will be at First UMC in Navasota on July 8th from 9 AM - 1
PM. Cost is $15, which includes a T-shirt, badge & lunch. ADVANCED
REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.
Additional T-Shirts are available for $7 each.

CHURCH ORGANIST/PIANIST will play for two worship services on
Sundays, with a Wednesday night choir rehearsal. Must be able to read open
score, reasonable sight reading proficiency, and have a desire and
ability to encourage young amateur church musicians. Must be capable and
