Prairie View A&M University Concert Chorale, Wednesday, October 4, 12 Noon, First UMC, 1320 Main Street, Houston, Texas, 77002, 832-668-1800, www.fmhouston.com. The Chorale will present a 30 minute program of spirituals. It’s repertoire spans several centuries of choral art music and is noted for its emphasis on the preservation & performance of the African-American spiritual. Free-will offering.

Spiritual Leadership Workshop, Friday-Saturday, October 13-14, Memorial Drive UMC, 12955 Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas, Pastor & Author, Rev. Daniel Wolpert demonstrates how personal devotion can evolve into leadership practice. A community's deepening prayer life depends on an effective spiritual leader. Many are willing to assume this role, but some have trouble making the transition from an individual practice to leading a group.
